Healthcare where it’s needed most.
We provide free, high-quality healthcare to the people of North Carolina.
Mission: At Duke Remote Area Medical (RAM), we are working to build healthier communities, in Durham and beyond.
What is Duke RAM?
Duke RAM is a student-run organization that works in partnership with Remote Area Medical, a national nonprofit that provides free health services in medically underserved communities through single-weekend pop-up clinics. The Duke RAM chapter has two branches:
The General branch of Duke RAM engages in community health initiatives through volunteering at RAM clinics in the Southeast, partnering for local community service efforts, and advocating for state health policies.
The Community Host Group (CHG) board coordinates and hosts our very own annual RAM clinic in Henderson, NC each spring.
Our Community
We are a dedicated team composed of Duke undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty committed to understanding the lived experiences of underserved patients across the country. We welcome students and community members of all interests and backgrounds to join our cause.
Ready to take the next step?
To build healthier communities is a massive effort. Whether you’re ready to volunteer your time, help us plan our own clinic, or help us grow our team of volunteers, healthcare providers, and passionate leaders, we need you on our team.
